Title
Iconic "UNITE" Poster
Description
A photograph of a protest poster that has the iconic peace symbol and clenched fist combined. The poster reads "UNITE" below the symbol in red paint. The iconic symbol was created by an art student from Foothill College (Los Altos, California) during the movement against the Vietnam War. The graphic was declared the "national strike symbol" by the California Students' Offensive and the National Student Congress at a conference held at San Jose State College in May and was reproduced for this movement and many other settings.
